Please note that although the gaskets are strong under compression, you should never use a sharp tool like a screwdriver to install them. This may tear the silicone.
This silicone gasket is suitable for the old, used E61 Group espresso machine where the grouphead has worn out and requires a thicker gasket.
The thickness of the gasket will determine the “lock-in” position of the portafilter handle. Ideally you want the handle to lock in directly towards you (5 o’clock to 7 o'clock position). If the gasket is too thin it will lock in too far. If the gasket is too thick it will not lock in enough.
