This is the current production filter screen for the Robot - Manual Espresso Maker. The screen is now a bit thicker, completely flat and the centre pin is now made from silicone rubber. The silicone pin is now easier to grip and does not get bent if the screen is accidentally hit by the piston.
The silicone pin extends on the back by 1mm, this does not affect the coffee. If you find the difficulties of using the filter screen, please use filter paper instead.
The filter screen should be placed on the bed of tamped coffee. It is essential to use the filter screen (or filter paper) during brewing; otherwise, adding water will result in a messy sludgy.
After tamping, insert the filter filter (or filter paper) and firmly press it downward using two fingers. Ensure you apply enough pressure to prevent the screen from wobbling and potentially getting damaged.
Avoid pumping the arms up and down as it will disrupt the puck and water flow. After making coffee, raise the levelling arms and the metal screen may have shifted. Be cautious not to push the lever arms all the way down during the pull to expel the remaining water, as the piston may hit the filter screen. It's best to stop pressing when you feel the piston against the screen.
